Type 2 Diabetes Symptoms

There are two types of diabetes, Type 1 and Type 2. Type 2 diabetes symptoms may not be noticeable at first, since it is a slow rising illness. People who have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes have developed serious health problems within their kidneys, lungs, heart, blood vessels, nerves and eyes. A lot of the time, these symptoms occur before diagnosis is even made, but the diabetes was usually there much longer before the symptoms even occurred.

There are some signs that you can look for to help warn when Type 2 diabetes symptoms are on the verge. Numbness, tingling, burning and swelling in the feet or hands, also known as diabetic neuropathy, are signs of Type 2 diabetes. Also a part of the signs are blurred or distorted vision. Some people who witness this see flashes of light, large floating red or black dots and seeing large areas of what looks like floating hair, cotton fibers or spider webs, also known as diabetic retinopathy.

Chest pain and shortness of breath is also one of Type 2 diabetes symptoms. This can also be a sign for heart and blood vessel problems.

Type 2 diabetes affects the way that your body uses food for energy. Diabetes Type 2 is developed when the cells inside your body are resistant to the insulin your body produces. High blood pressure is also developed when your pancreas isn’t producing enough insulin.
